Salvos Legal Humanitarian commenced in 2010 and is now recognised as a leading provider of free legal services for socially and economically disadvantaged people across New South Wales and Queensland.
We provide free legal services to hundreds of clients every week across our fifteen offices. Our clients are often from low socio-economic backgrounds and have been unable to access legal assistance other services.
We are a strong team of skilled and passionate lawyers and migration agents and have a wide panel of barristers who may also offer their services free of charge. We can provide high-end and well-resourced one-off advice, limited assistance of full representation (subject to our Means & Merits Test) in circumstances where disadvantaged individuals are facing social injustice.
We believe that no-one should be without a trusted legal advisor in their time of need, and understand the significant benefit to individuals and our society through the protection and advancement of human rights.
Our aim is not only to exist as a law firm. We recognise that our clients often have other pressing non-legal needs and are managing other complicated issues in their lives. To this end, we can engage clients with other Salvation Army social and pastoral services such as drug & alcohol recovery, employment assistance, housing, welfare, counselling, financial management and aged care.

What our clients say
“What an amazing team. Four months ago, when I went to Auburn I was afraid that Salvos wouldn’t accept my case and that I would have a very complicated start in Australia. Now I feel blessed for having met you all.” Gui, Salvos Legal Humanitarian client October 2016
